Slate Sourdough is a sourdough bakery focused on high-quality, naturally leavened breads and pastries. We work with wholesale partners, pop-ups, events, and direct customers, and we’re looking for someone who can help us grow those channels intentionally and sustainably.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-based sales, local business outreach, and being part of a hands-on food brand.
Role Overview
The Sales & Partnerships Representative is responsible for growing and capturing Slate
Sourdough’s revenue across wholesale, events, and direct sales channels.
This role goes beyond generating leads — it owns the full revenue lifecycle from outreach to cash collection. That includes building relationships, closing accounts, ensuring orders are invoiced, and helping move product to maximize sell-through and minimize waste.
You’ll work closely with the owner to identify opportunities, follow leads through to completion, and maintain strong relationships with partners.
Responsibilities
Wholesale Sales & Account Management
- Proactively reach out to new wholesale prospects (coffee shops, restaurants, retailers)
- Guide wholesale customers from first contact through closing and onboarding
- Maintain relationships with existing wholesale accounts
- Increase order size, frequency, or product mix where appropriate
- Act as a point of contact for wholesale customers with questions or issues
- Own the full revenue lifecycle from outreach → close → fulfillment → invoicing → payment collection
Events & Pop-Ups
- Research and identify events, markets, and pop-ups where Slate Sourdough can sell
- bread or operate the cinnamon roll cart
- Coordinate with the owner on event fit, logistics, and scheduling
- Communicate with event organizers as needed
Email & Customer Communication
- Send weekly email updates to Slate Sourdough subscribers (menus, pre-orders, events)
- Coordinate messaging with the owner to ensure brand voice and accuracy
- Help identify opportunities to drive sales through email (pre-orders, events, specials)
Revenue Operations & Inventory Movement
- Ensure all fulfilled wholesale orders are invoiced within 24–48 hours
- Track outstanding payments and follow up as needed
- Coordinate with the production team to understand daily output and available inventory
- Proactively sell excess or unsold product from the daily bake (through wholesale
- partners, direct outreach, or other channels)
- Maximize revenue capture by reducing waste and increasing sell-through
Compensation
- Commission-based pay
- Commission earned on: New wholesale accounts, Increased revenue from existing wholesale customers, Event bookings and sales
- $500 Monthly base stipend tied to activity and performance expectations
- Potential for performance-based bonuses as the role grows
Ideal Candidate
- Comfortable with outreach via email, phone, and in person
- Strong communicator — friendly, clear, and professional
- Organized and able to follow leads through to completion
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Ability to take ownership of results, not just activity
- Interest in food, hospitality, or local business is a plus
- Sales experience is helpful but not required — relationship skills matter more
Schedule & Flexibility
- Flexible hours
- Some local travel may be required for meetings or events
- Remote-friendly with local presence preferred
